What is a Prescription Drug Plan (PDP)?
Stand-alone Medicare Prescription Drug Plans (PDPs) are meant to be used along with Original Medicare Parts A & B. (Medicare Parts A & B are your hospital and doctor coverage.)
- There is no requirement to have PDP coverage. However, participation is restricted to those who have Medicare part A and/or Part B coverage or those who have a Medicare Part C plan that includes both Medicare Part A and Part B coverage.
- PDPs are offered by private companies, although are reviewed and monitored by the federal government.

Generally, you must use network pharmacies to access your prescription drug benefit, except under non-routine circumstances, and quantity limitations and restrictions may apply.

Simply Prescriptions contracts with the Federal Government and is a PDP plan with a Medicare contract. Enrollment in Simply Prescriptions depends on contract renewal. Submit feedback about your Medicare prescription drug plan at www.Medicare.gov or by contacting the Medicare Ombudsman. _.
